Now it Gets Tougher

Not only did the Yankees sweep their series against the Twins, the Angels and the Dodgers did the same. The Yankees are definitely a strong team but now here comes the test. The Twins are good in the AL Central but they are not at the caliber of the Yankees. We will now see how good the Yankees are as they go up against guys like Bobby Abreu, John Lackey, Ervin Santana ( did not even start in ALDS ), and the whole cast of the Angels.

Joe Girardi and the Yankees probably will be using the bullpen a lot in this series since I believe the Angels batters will be able to hit the Yankees pitching. This will have to be a full effort from everybody ( maybe even Joba ).

The ALDS in regards to pitching gives you the opportunity to have less pitchers due to the length of the series. In order for the Yankees to win they need to have all of their pitchers ( starting and bullpen ) involved.

This should be a really good series with the winner probably winning the World Series. It should be fun for both Yankee and Angels fans.

Sure, while the Twins weren't much of a challenge, the first test (of 3) was to have the Yankees handle them with ease.

Now that they swept through the Twins, doing it in 2009 Yankees fashion (come from behind 9th inning walk-offs), the Yankees are primed to continue this dominant season.

The Angels have always poised a challenge to the Yanks, but that's been in best-of-5. Additionally, they took the first series in Anaheim since something like 2003.

I think the confidence is there and, with every cylinder running right now (A-Rod, starting and bullpen pitching), the Yanks are positioned to move on.

The only issue, and I believe it to be for both teams in the ALCS is the time off between series.

The Yankees don't want to see A-Rod cool off or get in his head about what's at stake.

I'd be very surprised if the Yankees didn't move on to the WS.
